WWII - ETO; Germany; Raymond PETE Smith; Maintenance Battalion, Comapny G

_He was in the US Army, serving in combat area's of Germany (and __? ) In Germany, it is thought he repaired Jeeps and equipment and that he was a Gunner and taught others to shoot weapons.

Later then he was sent to the PTO.

Hi Barbi. Thanks so much for your expertise and willingness to help me. My Father in Law was Raymond Joseph Smith Born 9-4-1919 in Clifton Heights, Delaware Co, pa. He lived on Madison Ave, Clifton Heights, pa when he entered the army. Died 9-11-11 in Media, Pa Buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Darby, pa. He lived most of his married life at 923 Pittman Ave., Collingdale,,Pa Parents were Harry and Bridget (Bertha) Dougherty Smith. He had many sisters but only one brother who also probably served, Hugh Smith also of Clifton Heights, PA

They raised their 5 children in Collingdale,Pa. Father of Ray, Bob & JoAnn, Rich & Eileen, Peggy, Gary & Barbara. Grandfather to Mariellen, Brian, Brendan, Bridget, Colleen, Daniel and Rachel Smith.
