S/Sgt Adolph T Sonnen, B-25 Radio/Aerial Gunner with the 310th Bomb Group, the 379th Bomb Squad in the MTO.

6 June 2019; "SSgt Adolph Sonnen" who was in the 310th Bomb group of the 379th Bomb Squadron. He was a radio operator and then went to the 57th fighter group of the 66th fighter squadron when the 310th changed over. His daughter; Minister, Barbra Sonnen-Hernandez

OBIT; Adolph T. Sonnen was born August 20, 1920 on his father's farm on Potranco Road and Tally Road and went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2003. He attended a one room school house named Lockhart School. In late 1940, Adolph joined the Army Air Corps. Adolph did his basic training at Kelly AFB in November 1940 at what was called Tent City. He served tours at Mitchell Field, Long Island, NY, and also overseas in Brazil, South America, Southern France, Africa, Palestine, Egypt and Rome. As the wars ended in Europe in 1945, Adolph separated from the Army Air Corps at Ft. Sam Houston, with the rank of Staff Sgt. He was rated as Aircraft Radio Technician and Radio Operator. Adolph then enrolled in school under the GI Bill as a student in A/C Flight Training. He graduated with a private license in 1948. Adolph was employed at Kelly AFB for a total of 41 years and retired in 1982. Adolph enjoyed doing woodwork projects, gardening and enjoyed fishing trips to the Texas coast. Adolph is survived by wife of 50 years, Connie Sonnen; four children, Eleanor Ruth Guerrero and husband Rudy, Randy Sonnen, Ed Sonnen and wife Pam, Barbara Hernandez and husband Carlos; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
