Mrs. Sincerbeaux. Retired Teacher

Mrs. Mabel E. Sincerbeaux, 84, a retired school teacher of 172 Woodbine Ave., Northport, died at Huntington Hospital March 26.

She was born in Brooklyn March 21, 1884, to John B. and Elizabeth Mangan Sammmis. The family lived in Centerport for many years where her father owned hundreds of acres of property. The last tract he sold contained 1200 acres and was located north of the Vanderbilt estate, now a museum.
During her 35 years of her teaching career, Mrs. Sincerbeaux taught in the public schools of Cutchogue, Dix Hills, and Eaton's Neck, her last post being in Greenport.

She was married to the late Henry Sincerbeaux and is survived by her four brothers, Ralph A. Sammis of Northport, John B. of Queens Village, Edward S. of Lantana Fla., and Raymond [A]. of Oakdale.

Funeral services were Saturday at the Harry A. Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Merritt T. Johnson of St. Paul's Methodist Church officiating. Burial took place in the Sammis plot at the Northport Rural Cemetery.
