Gino Marconi

MOUNT SHASTA — Services for Gino Marconi, 82, of Mount Shasta will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Mount Shasta.

The Rev. Michael Canny of the church will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Shasta Memorial Park.

Mr. Marconi died Monday, April 4, 2004, at his residence. Born Nov. 25, 1922, in McCloud, he was a lifelong Siskiyou County resident.

The owner of Marconi’s Melody Mart in Mount Shasta, he was a former mayor of Mount Shasta and a former City Council member. He worked as a city clerk and finance officer for the city of Mount Shasta and was chairman of the board for Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta.

He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Rotary Club of Mount Shasta, Knights of Columbus, Mount Shasta Elks Lodge 2333, Eskaton Housing, Siskiyou Home Health and a golf club and a bridge club.

Survivors include wife Ellen; sons Ted of Mount Shasta, Jim of San Mateo and John of Sacramento; daughters Cindy, Leslie and Melissa, all of Mount Shasta, and Kim of Medford, Ore.; sisters Olivia Thebolt of Belmont and Mary Fontana of Medford, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel.
