Who could have sold anything, but chose to sell roofs and the gospel - died Jan. 14. He was 90.

Si was a social evangelist who built a vast network of friends to guide in Christian faith. He ministered to prisoners at San Quentin. He fed the homeless three days each week. He gave much of his wealth to Advent Group Ministries, which counsels drug-addicted teens.

He lost his wife in June. Si cared for Norma in sickness for 25 years, but never stopped telling people he'd "married up". He'd brag about everything, but always admitted his greatest achievement was marrying Norma.

He is survived by sons Scott, Mark and Rod, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service is at 2 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Saratoga Federated Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Advent.
