Charles Henry Thompson, a very hardworking and dedicated soldier, fought in the Civil War as a private Confederate in the 6 Virginia Cavalry. He was born in Trevilian Station ,Virginia and he enlisted in the war at a very young age of 20 years old.

According to the 1860 census, he was living in his hometown Trevilian Station, Virginia. Charles Henry Thompson’s father is R.L Thompson father’s and his mother was M. Thompson. His father was 54 and his mother was 50. He had 9 children according to the 1860 Census.

He enrolled for the Active Service in Orange Courthouse, VA he was enrolled by J.J Browning at Company Muster Roll, a organization that he was in the Civil War, on June 19, 1861. He had no medical cards of heroin or personal papers of heroin. His card numbers were 50803867, 3938, 4011, 4098, 4187, 4266, 4356, 4444, and 6268. On June 19th, Charles Henry Thompson mustered into service at Cauph Kerry an organization which was owned by May Skimmer. The value of his house was $80 and the cost of his equipment was $30. In 1861 of November and December, he enlisted again on May 4th by J.J Browning. He was last paid by Captain Carter until October 31, 1861. Around this time he was absent in time for the war because he was at home and was sick. During May and June, he was last paid by Captain Carter again on April 3rd, 1862 . Charles H Thompson was still enrolled by Company Muster Roll, the same organization back in 1861, after a one year period by J.J Browning. In July and August 1863, he was still actively present however, he was last paid on June 1863. His name appeared Souer Joseph as Claus H. Thompson. He was still present in the war and was paid for the last time ever on October 31, 1863. Wow, Halloween Day! He appeared on the Regimental Return which was a well-known organization in December 1861.

The problems among the enlisted men were at Camp Fletcher and they were caused lot of grief. The soldiers dealt with a lot of sicknesses and disabilities which led these soldiers to leave the war and go home after years of hard work and dedication by fighting in the civil war. These men who fought for our country would always be well-known in our hearts and well-respected not only in the United States, but around the nation. Charles H Thompson appeared on receipt roll for clothing. This receipt was issued on May 2nd, 1864. Exactly one month after the receipt was issued, Charles H Thompson was killed on June 11th, 1864.

Charles H Thompson, a very successful civil solider from Trevilian Station, Virginia, had enlisted at the age of 20 and he was active through 1861-1864 throughout the Civil War. He was also enrolled throughout the Civil War in an organization called Company Muster Roll and he got paid by Captain Carter all the years he was in service. His last time he ever got paid in the war was in June 1863. And he went to a camp before he left the war and he faced many harsh situations like sickness and disabilities. He is a very well-respected man because he was very dedicated and he also spent his time fighting for the country the half of his life. He will not only be known to us for fighting for us in the war but he will also be known in our lives and will impact us to make a difference for our country as an inspiration to all of us today.
