oshua Filer was enlisted into the American Civil War, Union, in the summer of 1864 as one of the Hundred Days Men, an effort to augment existing manpower for an all-out push to end the war within 100 days. He was in the 132nd Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company D, was organized at Camp Fry, Chicago, Illinois, and mustered in for 100 days June 1, 1864. It mustered out October 17, 1864. Pvt Co D 132 IL Inf. Service: Garrison duty at Paducah, Kentucky, until October. Expedition from Paducah to Hadix Ferry July 25-27. Action near Haddix Ferry July 27.
