WINTERSET, Iowa - Eleanor M. Pekarek, 92, of Winterset, Iowa, passed away Feb. 1, 2013, of natural causes at the Winterset Care Center South.

She was born Oct. 4, 1920, in Chicago, the eldest daughter of Frank and Marie (Schiller) Wright. Eleanor had two bothers, Edwin and Franklin; and one sister, Evelyn.

Eleanor married Arthur E. Pekarek on June 20, 1942. Together they lived in Downers Grove, Ill., where they raised six children; the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on Chicaugon Lake; and finally Winterset, where Eleanor lived with her daughter Christine and family. Art and Eleanor enjoyed many happy years on Chicaugon Lake and all the family gatherings.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Jo), Arthur (Donna), Michael (Cyndie), Timothy (Susan), and Christine (Dan) Faccin. Eleanor had 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.

Eleanor is also survived by her brother, Frank of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; and sister, Evelyn of Fruita, Colo.

She was preceded in death her husband, Arthur in 1987; her daughter, Ellen in 1992; her granddaughter, Monica in 2013; and by her brother, Edwin in 1985.
