Gregers Laudridsen Bøttischer

G

regers Lauridsen Bøttiger was born i Ålborg january 6. in 1673 as son of a cooper: Laurids Petersen and his wife Maren Gregersdatter (In danish a cooper is called Bødker - of this his last name). Being named after his mothers father tells me, that he probably was the second son in the family. Gregers Lauridsen Bøttiger attended the cathederal school in Kalundborg, where he became "Student". Later he studied theology at the University in Copenhagen and obtained his degree as candidate in 1696. He died here in the vicarage of Kegnæs Church september 4. 1755. He had at least 1 son and 2 daughters. One of the daughters Anna Charlotte married the mayor of Sønderborg (Bürgermeister) Alexander Zoffmann. The son married a daughter of the local schoolmaster in Sønderby (Kegnæs) and they lived in the vicarage until 1737. I have no information about his name and neither about whereto they later mooved. The Church on Kegnæs was built in 1615 on the comand of the Duke (Hertug) Hans den
