Parker Simmons Made Corporal In U.S. Army

Raymond Parker Simmons of Rhinebeck, who enlisted May 26 for the U.S. Army infantry at Panama, has been promoted to the rank of corporal, according to word received recently. Sergt. Jules H. Eggers, recruiting officer for Dutchess and Ulster counties, reports that because Simmons is a sharpshooter in the Panama infantry, he receives additional pay.
