"BUD" Frederick W. Ritter, Jr. was a patriotic young man and joined up to the Army in July 1941, was discharged 3 Dec. 1943, just long enough to re-enlist in the AAC. He was about 24 at enlistment. Bud was then trained to be a B-25 Bombardier and was assigned to the 310th Bomb Group, the 379th Bomb Squadron and flew 62 Combat Missions in the B-25 Mitchell in the MTO.

Frederick W Ritter, Jr. AUS # 31048851 … Residing in Conn., Fairfield County, Enlisted at Hartford CT on 08 July, 1941 as a Private. Born Canada/British N America in 1917, completed 4 years of high school, white, citizen and a salesperson at emlistment.

After going across the Atlantic, BUD flew Combat Missions as a Commissioned Bombardier, he did fly in a few different ships, but his main ship was the B-25 G #43-4048.

His pictures and stories are from his proud son Rock Ritter. Rock remembers his Dad mentioning a few names, Bob Reddick (Robert H Reddick, B-25 Pilot) and Haskins, there were 2 Haskins and most likely his friend was Lt Eugene T Haskins, Pilot and that they were most likely tent-mates. From the Missions we have researched so far, Bud never flew in their ships, but flew along side them in another B-25. Tent mates would be very close.
