Harold H Locke was born in 1922 in Washington State. He was residing in Gilliam County, Oregon when he enlisted into the Army, into the Air Corps to become a Fighter Pilot. He joined 6 Feb. 1943 in Fresno, Calif. He had completed all of High School and one year of college, and was still single.

Harold was Killed in Action on 31 Jan. 1945 when he was strafing 5 miles South of Brescia, Ialy and hit a High-Tension wire, he was a P-47 Thunderbolt Fighter Pilot with the 86th Fighter Group in ship serial #42-26698 (12136) The 86th Fighter Group was in N Africa in 1943, later on Corsica in the Mediterranean Theatre.

The Unit again moved PIZA Air Base on 8 Nov. 1944 extending Combat Operations well inti Germany. The stay here lasted several months, enabling the set-up of clubs and other important facilities until the next move until 14 Feb. 1945.
