Wins Promotion

Lieut. Arthur F. (Bud) Titus graduated from the U. S. Flying school at Mather Field, California, July 25th, and received his 'Silver Wings' and commission as lieutenant in the U. S. Flying Forces. Arthur was born in Lynn Haven and graduated from the Lynn Haven schools, Bay High school, the University of Florida and was an officer of the National Guard of Florida. His mother, Mrs. Irene Titus recently visited him at Mather Field.

Promoted

Lieut. Arthur F. Titus of the A. A. Force visited his mother Mrs. Irene Titus and boyhood friends Thursday and was called back that day. He graduated from Mather Field Calif. July 26 and received his Silver Wings. He flew from the West Coast to Elgin Field.

Now A Captain

Arthur F. Titus, son of Irene Titus of Lynn Haven and Panama City, who is stationed "somewhere in England," has recently been promoted to the rank of Captain in the U. S. Army Air Forces.

Captain Titus, a graduate of Bay County High School, attended the University of Florida and went from there into the Air Forces before Pearl Harbor. He has been overseas since March, 1942.

Young Titus, nephew of the late Roy Van Kleeck of this city, is now a navigator on a bomber.

His wife, the former Miss Orma Turner of Gainesville, Fla., is now making her home in Gainesville. They have a seven-weeks-old son Arthur F. Titus, Jr., whom Captain Titus has never seen. Captain Titus and Miss Turner were married about a year ago in Gainesville.

14 Panama City Men Members of Volunteer Air Reserve Group

Fourteen Panama City men are active members of the 9889th Volunteer Air Reserve Training Squadron commanded by Lt. Col. Joseph I. Mathis which meets tri-monthly at the Army Air Force Recruiting Station here.
