Funeral services for William F. Heerlein, 32 of Turnpike road, Town of Rhinebeck, who died last Thursday night in an automobile accident on Enterprise road, Rhinebeck, were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Third Lutheran Church of Rhinebeck by the Rev. Erwin S. Jaxheimer, former pastor of the church.

A memorial fund for Mr. Heerlein has been set up by members of the Third Lutheran Church. Anyone wishing to make a contribution of the Memorial Fund is asked to contact Mrs. Robert Forbes, secretary of the church council.

Mr. Heerlein was born in Bayside, L. I., on Jan. 2, 1931, the son of Charles F. and Florence C. Bousson Heerlein who survive. He had lived in Rhinebeck for the last 29 years and was graduated from Rhinebeck Central School in 1948. Mr. Heerlein was a former procurement coordinator at IBM and was a member of the Third Lutheran Church, treasurer of the church, a steward on the church council and a member of the Montgomery Post, American Legion, all in Rhinebeck. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine corps in the Korean conflict and on Nov. 9, 1952, married the former JoAnn Kyff who survives.

Surviving in addition to his parents and wife, are six children, Faith Ann, Leabeth Ann, Melissa Ann, Heather Ann, Dwayne Russell and Brett William, and a sister, Mrs. John Michaels of Maplewood, N. J.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the William E. White Funeral home of Rhinebeck.

Bearers were Thomas Griffen, George Bachschmidt, Hans Weyde, Vernon Sipperley, Louis Scism, James McClenahan, Raymond Ulmer and Norman Decker.
