Staff Sgt. Valentino P. Rivoli (12168196) was born on 12 October 1917 in Rochester, NY the son of Salvatore Rivoli (1876-1964) and Rosina Rivoli (1883-1968); recent Italian immigrants. He attended high school for two years and on 8 October 1942 enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Rochester, NY.

He parachuted safely from the burning aircraft. All other members of his crew were killed. He was captured and sent to Stalag 7A Moosburg POW camp. After his liberation, Rivoli returned the States aboard the USS Admiral Benson and arrived in New York City on 12 June 1945. He was awarded the Air Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters for his service. He married Ann L. Furman (1920-2007) about 1946 and they had five children. He was an operator for Rochester Gas & Electric Corporation.

Rivoli died on 14 May 1966 in Rochester, NY at age 48. He was buried in section No. 18, lot VET, grave 735 in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Rochester.
