Team Runs Wild In Main Street And Strikes Auto

Rudco Man's Horses Are Cause of Commotion At Noonday

Wind Shield Is Broken; Injuries Slight

Pedestrians crosing [sic] the intersection of Main and Market Streets during the noon hour rush Thursday had a bad scare, when a team of horses of George Phillips of Rudco dashed up Main Street and plunged into an automobile truck of Edgar V. Anderson which was parked on the north side of Main Street a few yards above Market Street. The horses narrowly missed a trolley car, and one animal put his head through the windshield of the truck. The cut did not prove serious and neither animal was badly injured.

Raymond Gaddis of 33? Church Street, who tried to stop the horses, was struck in the back by the lumber box wagon the horses were pulling. He was treated at home by a physician for bruises about the back. The traffic policeman on duty at the corner jumped for the horses, but they veered and he missed them by a small margin. Mr. Phillips said he had been in a down town clothing store when the horses were frightened by an automobile and ran away.
