.S.Navy 1942-1945 Norman was a gunner in the Navy Armed Guard aboard a Army Transport ship in the Pacific with the primary purpose of taking soldiers into combat area & to bring out the wounded. When in a combat area port during an air raid their ship would be covered with a smokescreen and they were not allowed to fire so as not to attract attention.
