illiam was a Gunner's Mate 3-C for the USS Menifee (APA-202) and the USS Whiteside (AKA-90) from 1945 through February 1946. He later graduated from Shurtleff College in Alton with his Bachelor’s Degree and from Loyola University with his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. He retired from Berwyn School District 100 in 1984 after 31 years of service, where he was first a teacher and then spent 24 years as principal of Jan Amos Komensky School. William was an avid fisherman. After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed time traveling to Canada fishing in the summer, wintering in Florida and keeping in touch with family and grandkids in between. They later resided in Punta Gorda, Florida full time for more than 18 years before moving to Hopedale, IL in 2014. William passed away on August 27, 2017. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
